Interesting weekend thus far

Friday KJ : Last night, wifey insisted that I stop what I was doing and come and work on this All In painting that we wanted to do. All In is an audiobook by Mark Batterson which blew us away on how to live All in for God. I recommend the audiobook, as it is free on trial and worth the listen. Wifey laid out the All In on four (4) sheets of paper and we transferred the outlines onto the canvas, the colour is a rich deep blue we call Jackman Blue, so named, because the paint mixer machine at a certain Hardware in town *coughInTudorStreet* couldn't make the colour on the sample card. L Blank Canvas. R Laying out the All In Then it was on to PAINT! We used a metallic gold, two coats and filled in the lines. My wife and I are Really like Oil and Water, Especially in painting. Where her strokes are imprecise, blobish and messy, I go for tight, controlled strokes, precise lines and straight edges lol. We balance out each other. Or usually walk away in frustration.😅 ...

My wife. In 2 memes

Image
I love and like my wife. Two important distinctions here. Love is fleeting,  like a fever which comes and goes independently of the will.     Like lasts a lot longer than love. Like is around after the butterflies in the stomach go, the 10+ hour phone calls, when you fully accept the weirdness and idiosyncrasies, the good and the bad of the person. Anyhow, Bring on the memes!   When she sees me standing waiting for her (literally lol) At night: That's my wife, she loves me totally and completely and I her. 😍

Rain Rain Don't Go Away

Image
As I trolled my Facebook feed this rather honest and simple quote was posted by our friend Dave Conscious. It fits and sums up the many thoughts swirling around in my mind about love and how we treat those we say we love. Rain will be used as the physical metaphor for something as illusive and intangible as LOVE...but what is it about rain that we need so much but would rather it come back another day? When I was growing up in what is called a 'ghetto' area I often went to sleep to countless fights and arguments between my neighbours or my own family members. I found deep satisfying solace in the rain drops as they fell on my rooftop, for in my childlike mind I thought those fighting would not want to get wet by the rain, and they would run and go in their homes making it quiet again. This gave birth to my extreme love of rain and storms. I welcome news reports of pending bad weather and see it as a brief relief from argument. Love acts in a similar way. For a small po...

It's Crazy Awesome

Image
To be able to wake up for the last 267 days as Mrs Jackman has been surreal. When I did the calculation on timeanddate.com it shocked me to see that we have spent so many days together since our wedding day. Time is flying!!!! You will not see KJ or DJ this post, as I am flying solo on this entry. I wanted to share some of my private thoughts with you all about how crazy awesome my husband is. Rarely do we find women who have good experiences with men and when they do, and decide to share their experiences, there is always the presence of God and the devil in the reaction to their journey with a good man. Some women who see it feel jealous, sad, heartbroken... because they are yet to experience the love of a good man. Others plot secretly to take down that good man to prove to the woman that all men are dogs, and she is living in fantasy land. Admittedly I know this because I have been both women at different times in my life. Unlike my husband, who was raised by two very stro...

De Clay Oven Experience

Image
KJ: Diosa and I spoke about eating at different establishments in Barbados and giving our reviews of the customer service, food and atmosphere of each place. Today, we visited De Clay Oven Pizzeria and Bar . Wifey saw the ad on Instagram and since we were in the area, having come back from experiencing Bubble Ball war and dubbing her "Bubble wife" (she'll explain later), we decided to stop by. CE: The waitress/BarLady (Sophie) was very professional, thoughtful and a charming saleswoman. I'll let Diosa explain more if she wishes. Food:  I ordered the 10" Wukkup & Rum   Pizza and Diosa ordered the Alfredo pasta with mince meat, ham, Parmesan and garlic Bread to share between the three of us, a Shirely Temple for Jadon 😐 and a Vanilla Escape Cocktail for myself. L to R: Alfredo Pasta and Wukkup and Rum Pizza The pizza crust was how I liked it, thin and crispy. Plantain on pizza for me was a new and exciting addition which married well with the pi...

First!

" As it is above, so shall it be below " KJ:  To my utter dismay, my wife decided to start off this blog with this quote and asked me to give my interpretation. SIGH. smh. I was looking for a cool video, epic illustrations.. however all praises to the Almighty, with whom this or us, could not have been possible. My interpretation is what was ordained in heaven comes into being in the realm of men. Our lives were set in place long before we were born, long before our parents were born and so forth. Even how Diosa and I met and the events that took place from 2015 to now, show me that I have very little control and my life isn't mine to decide. DJ: I love the way my husband's mind works. He has such an interesting perspective on life and what I normally think about things I can trust is not how he sees them. I contributed to the introduction of our blog with this phrase because our journey is one that we both can say started above, and is being experienced be...
