What's on my Mind?

Image
What's on my mind ? I'm glad you all are reading this, because you're in for a treat. If a dentist makes money off of people with bad teeth, why would I use toothpaste 4 out of 5 recommend? Would really like to hear what that one dude is going to say.... That's my comic relief for the night.

Where Does Wool Come From?

Image
I am old school. . (a true lady does not reveal her age) So instead of a creative catchy photo of us, use your imagination and join me on the following journey. Image Retrieved from: http://www.bostonmamas.com/blog/2017/3/23/6-upcoming-sheep-wool-festivals-in-massachusetts Our day started off nicely with Jadon, our son, doing Grammar and I doing my worksheet assignment for my Marketing class... not without the usual challenges of being constantly interrupted by Jadon's questions on what I deemed trivial things . To him, his questions needed to be answered immediately in order for him to move onto the next thing on his paper, but to me...well... his questions were mere stalling tactics so he wasted time, instead of focusing on the task at hand. I fielded questions like, "mommy, where does wool come from?" Shocked, that my 8 yr old did not know where wool came from, and desperately trying to remember when was it that I learned about wool, I tried not to be judgm...

Fasting & Furious

DJ:  As you can see above, my face is not at all pleased with this meal. As hubby and I hunted for pulleys, we decided to try a new food establishment for lunch and it may have been divine intervention, but I was not impressed at all with my meal. You see, we are observing a personal fast and I did not decide to join him from day 1. A message to wives out there.... listen to your husbands! It was supposed to be my favorite dish! ( Chicken Alfredo with Penne Pasta ). It almost ruined it for me, but digging deeper into the lesson of the day, I realized how important it is for a couple to be on the same page spiritually , emotionally , mentally and I dare to say...*clears throat* physically . The concept of two becoming one is not some Hollywood Horror/SciFi flick, where the man and the woman merges into one mega-human. Nor is it as modern day female term " losing yourself in the relationship ". The two becoming one is taking two perspectives and getting them on the same ...

Pain Made Me A Believer!

Image
If you could only be an insect on our wall...not all day though as we do need our privacy. Did you listen to the video? The song is called Believer by Imagine Dragons. The lyrics went through my ears, traveled to the neurons sparking in my brain and triggered this flow of words I am about to share with you. MY TRIPLE HEARTBREAK Can you remember that sick feeling inside your chest when a guy/girl you liked told you the one thing that steals all the breath from your lungs to kill you? Yes, " I do not like you the way you like me! " Ouch ...Would you believe me if I told you my husband rejected me three times before we even made it to anything more than friends? YES! He did...Did I say three times? 3 THREE tres times....My heart was not prepared at all for the feelings that came when he told me those words the first time, far less the two other times that came after that. I am cute...( thinking ) well, I think so. The last time I checked I was funny, charming and very...

Interesting weekend thus far

Friday KJ : Last night, wifey insisted that I stop what I was doing and come and work on this All In painting that we wanted to do. All In is an audiobook by Mark Batterson which blew us away on how to live All in for God. I recommend the audiobook, as it is free on trial and worth the listen. Wifey laid out the All In on four (4) sheets of paper and we transferred the outlines onto the canvas, the colour is a rich deep blue we call Jackman Blue, so named, because the paint mixer machine at a certain Hardware in town *coughInTudorStreet* couldn't make the colour on the sample card. L Blank Canvas. R Laying out the All In Then it was on to PAINT! We used a metallic gold, two coats and filled in the lines. My wife and I are Really like Oil and Water, Especially in painting. Where her strokes are imprecise, blobish and messy, I go for tight, controlled strokes, precise lines and straight edges lol. We balance out each other. Or usually walk away in frustration.😅 ...

My wife. In 2 memes

Image
I love and like my wife. Two important distinctions here. Love is fleeting,  like a fever which comes and goes independently of the will.     Like lasts a lot longer than love. Like is around after the butterflies in the stomach go, the 10+ hour phone calls, when you fully accept the weirdness and idiosyncrasies, the good and the bad of the person. Anyhow, Bring on the memes!   When she sees me standing waiting for her (literally lol) At night: That's my wife, she loves me totally and completely and I her. 😍

Rain Rain Don't Go Away

Image
As I trolled my Facebook feed this rather honest and simple quote was posted by our friend Dave Conscious. It fits and sums up the many thoughts swirling around in my mind about love and how we treat those we say we love. Rain will be used as the physical metaphor for something as illusive and intangible as LOVE...but what is it about rain that we need so much but would rather it come back another day? When I was growing up in what is called a 'ghetto' area I often went to sleep to countless fights and arguments between my neighbours or my own family members. I found deep satisfying solace in the rain drops as they fell on my rooftop, for in my childlike mind I thought those fighting would not want to get wet by the rain, and they would run and go in their homes making it quiet again. This gave birth to my extreme love of rain and storms. I welcome news reports of pending bad weather and see it as a brief relief from argument. Love acts in a similar way. For a small po...
